NAMM 2014: Electro-Harmonix Introduces Slammi Pedal, Foot-Controlled Pitch Shifting and Harmony — with Demo Video

0
0

Electro-Harmonix has introduced its new Slammi Pitch-Shifter/Harmony pedal.

From EHX:

The new Slammi Pitch-Shifter/Harmony pedal combines a powerful new algorithm with EHX’s revolutionary Next Step Effects platform to deliver superior tone, glitch free operation and precision control.

The Slammi’s MAX BEND control functions as an 11-position switch. It allows the player to set the pedal’s maximum bend/interval to Detune for a lush chorus effect as well as ½ Step, Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Major 6th, Minor 7th, 1 Octave, 2 Octaves and 3 Octaves.

Bends can move up or down in relation to the original pitch, selectable with the pedal’s Bend button. Maximum bend can be achieved in either the toe-down or heel-down position, allowing the player to customize the pedal’s response to their playing preference. The Slammi’s controls also include a thumb wheel for Dry Volume which blends in the instrument’s dry signal.

EHX’s Next Step Effects series benefit from a design with no moving parts to wear out or break plus lightning-fast response, high sensitivity and silent bypassing with no clunky button to engage.

The new Slammi Polyphonic Pitch-Shifter/Harmony Pedal is housed in a rugged die-cast chassis and comes equipped with a 9-volt battery. It can also be powered by an optional standard 9.6-Volt/DC200mA AC adapter and carries a U.S. list price of $191.66.

NAMM 2014: Electro-Harmonix Introduces OD Glove Overdrive/Distortion Pedal — with Demo Video

0
0

The guys at New York City's Electro-Harmonix have a posted a brand-new demo video for their OD Glove overdrive/distortion pedal. You can check out the video, which features guitarist Bill Ruppert, below.

From EHX's website:

"Rich, overtone laden sound that doesn’t get muddy. Responsive controls that take you from sparkling, clean boost through brown crunch and all the way to thick, saturated hi-gain. Advanced features like Tone Shift and selectable 9 or 18V internal voltage for surgical sound sculpting. The new OD Glove delivers overdrive and distortion with impact, and the modern player in mind."

Advanced features include a Tone Shift switch, selectable 9 or 18V internal voltage and True Bypass switching. Tone Shift controls the mid frequency emphasis of the tone circuit and allows precise tone sculpting. The internal voltage switch changes the pedal’s internal power supply voltage. Operation at 9V results in a tighter sound, and reduces the current draw. Operation at 18V results in a less compressed, more open tone. True bypass preserves signal integrity when the effect is not engaged.

The control layout also includes Volume, Tone and Gain knobs. Volume sets the output level of the pedal and, along with lower Gain settings, can be used to dial in a sweet clean boost. Gain controls the amount of distortion, taking the OD Glove from a natural, smooth overdrive to thick, saturated high-gain sounds. The Tone control helps tame the treble to tailor the tone.

The new OD Glove pedal is housed in a compact die-cast package, equipped with a 9-volt battery, can be powered by an optional standard 9.6-Volt/DC200mA AC adapter and carries a U.S. list price of $77.38.

NAMM 2014: New Additions to Martin's Retro and Authentic Series Pay Homage to Vintage Models

0
0

C. F. Martin & Co. continues to revisit its historic roots by further enhancing stylistic and technical innovations from some of their best vintage models from past decades including the '20s, '30s, '40s and '60s.

Outstanding examples of these new models will be featured in two newly expanded series, Retro and Authentics, and will be unveiled at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California January 23-26, 2014. You can check out the new models here.

The iconic acoustic guitar-maker will also introduce to attendees two new additions to its acclaimed Road Series, and a reinterpretation of a classic Martin product, Martin Retro Strings.

AUTHENTICS:

Martin will present two new additions to its popular Authentic Series that will transport fans to a bygone Golden Era! Guitar enthusiasts will love the new enhancements that match the unique tonal properties and attention to detail of the originals. All models will feature historically accurate specifications such as thinner pegheads, fingerboards, center strips and bridge plates, as well as hand contoured bridges. Shell inlays are closer replicated in shape, size, dimension and location. Other standout details include hide glue construction and cloth side strips inside each body.

D-28 Authentic 1937: Perhaps the most revered vintage Martin D-28s are the ones created in 1937 with forward shifted hand-scalloped X-bracing, Adirondack red spruce soundboard and a 1 3/4" neck width. This stunning new recreation is based on a 1937 museum guitar, with original specifications that were confirmed using X-ray technology. Constructed using hide glue, this guitar features an Adirondack spruce top, Madagascar rosewood back and sides and authentic 1937 D-28 appointments, right down to the neck barrel, heel, diamond, head taper, and fingerboard inlays. The wider fingerboard is representative of a 1937 model. Aging toner is used on the entire body and neck to give it that authentic finish. (MSRP: $8,499)

000-28K Authentic 1921: Based upon a pristine 1921 000-28K from the Martin Museum collection, this second new addition features a slotted head 12-fret neck and is a completely faithful recreation of the original, featuring heavily flamed Hawaiian koa top, back and sides, hide glue construction and a hand -shaped neck without a truss rod. This 12-fret model is believed to have originally been built for the Hawaiian market and X-rays at a local community college confirmed that the original model had no truss rod, which has been replicated in this model. Also, the neck barrel, heel, diamond, head taper, and slots are all replicated from the 1921 model. The tuning machines are replicas of the original golden age nickel tuners. Aging toner is used on the entire body and neck to give it that authentic finish. The model is offered with Martin Silk and Steel strings. (MSRP: $7,499)

RETRO SERIES:

Martin’s groundbreaking Retro Series represents the most significant advancement of our era in amplified acoustic sound, capturing the stylistic and sonic elements of iconic classic Martin guitars. The series will welcome two new editions, the 000-18E and the D-35E, which will both enthrall guitarists with the seamless intersection of beautiful historical detail and Martin’s unique forward-thinking technology.

000-18E Retro: This new addition to the Retro series is based upon a beautiful 1940 14-fret 000-18 "donor" guitar from the Martin Museum collection with a 24.9" short scale that produces clear and expressive response for stage or studio use. With modern performance and playability, the 000-18E Retro offers the visual and tonal integrity of the mahogany auditorium guitars from the pre-war era. (MSRP: $3,399)

D-35E Retro: With electronic imaging contributed from a 1967 vintage D-35 "donor" guitar, the new model’s resulting acoustic as well as amplified tone is projective, balanced and resonant. Classic and enhanced D-35 appointments include a three-piece back, black pickguard, ivoroid bindings and a certified European spruce soundboard with thin 1/4" width bracing. It also features East Indian rosewood back and sides. The visual appeal of the original D-35 is captured and blended with a High Performance Neck® taper for easy action and enhanced playability. Equipped with Fishman F1 Aura Plus retro electronics, the D-35E Retro produces a pristine sound that previously could only be accomplished in a highly controlled studio setting. Perfect for the intermediate and advanced player. (MSRP: $4,499)

DRSGT & 000RSGT: The DRSGT and 000RSGT additions to Martin's affordable Road Series feature 14-fret neck to body construction with polished gloss Sitka spruce tops. Both models feature solid sapele back and sides and necks carved from "sipo," a close relative of mahogany. These newly evolved models emulate the appearance, integrity and tone of the Martin Style 18 models. Each model also comes equipped with Fishman sonitone electronics with USB. The USB port allows for easy plug and play with today’s computer based recording packages.

MARTIN RETRO STRINGS: Martin is also introducing a new take on an old favorite - Martin Retro™ Strings. Crafted from monel, a long-lasting, nickel-based alloy blend, this unique formula mellows quickly to a warm, vintage tone that brings out the natural, woody sounds in your acoustic guitar. Martin Retros provide a rich foundation on rhythm and crisp, clean notes on lead. And the qualities of this unique alloy give the strings a soft touch that make bends and slides feel effortless. Martin Retros are available in light and custom light gauges and are suitable for all genres of music.

NAMM 2014: Marshall Amplification Expands Handwired Series with Four New Models

0
0

On January 23, Marshall Amplification announced the launch of four new additions to its Handwired Series.

The Handwired Series of all-valve amps celebrates Marshall’s legacy of influencing the sound of rock and blues for more than 50 years.

Handwired is an ongoing series that features painstaking reissues of revered, historical, Marshall products that were originally completely wired by the human hand. These handcrafted, British-built amps capture in detail the authentic, legendary sound of Marshall, not only for connoisseurs and collectors, but also for a new generation of gear-savvy and tone-savvy musicians.

New Additions to the Marshall Handwired Series:

1962HW: Handwired, 30 Watt, all-valve, 2x12” Combo with Tremolo

This is a faithful recreation of the classic, Series II 1962, all-valve, 2x12” combo. This legendary, 30-Watt, two-channel amp was born in 1965 and used on one of the most influential blues albums of all-time, hence the combo’s commonly used "Bluesbreaker" nickname. The 1962HW replicates the format and topology of the first production run, right the way down to the unique sonic impact the original,valve-driven Tremolo circuit imparted. Drake revisited the original transformers using original paperwork and the amp is loaded with a pair of 12” Celestion 25 Watt G12C “Greenback” speakers.

Valve Compliment: 4 x ECC83 (one used for Tremolo); 1 x GZ34 rectifier; 2 x KT66

2245THW: Handwired, 30 Watt, all-valve head with Tremolo

The Handwired, all-valve 2245THW is an exact replica of the extremely rare and much sought-after "Bluesbreaker" 30 Watt head. As you might expect, the specifications for the 2245THW are exactly the same as the 1962HW "Bluesbreaker" combo, except for the speakers, of course.

Valve Compliment: 4 x ECC83 (one used for Tremolo); 1 x GZ34 rectifier; 2 x KT66

1973X: Handwired, 18 Watt, all-valve 2x12” Combo with Tremolo

The 1973 18-Watt, twin-channel, all-valve 2x12” combo with valve-driven Tremolo was originally produced from 1966 to 1968. The 1973X is an exactingly accurate replica of this highly revered, EL84 valve-powered amp, right the way down to the aluminum chassis. Armed with valve-driven tremolo and no negative feedback in its cathode-biased output stage, the 1973X is an extremely straightforward amplifier. Channel 1 (the non-Tremolo channel) only boasts two, self-explanatory controls: Volume and Tone; while Channel 2, the Tremolo Channel, boasts four – namely Volume and Tone, plus Speed and Intensity for the valve driven tremolo circuit. The 1973 is loaded with proprietary, “aged” 20 Watt Celestion T1221 12” speakers, specially designed with ‘softened-with-age’ sonic qualities.

Valve Compliment: 3 x ECC83 (one used for Tremolo); 1 x EZ81 rectifier; 2 x EL84.

1958X: 18 Watt Combo. Handwired, 18 Watt, all-valve 2x10” Combo with Tremolo

The 1958 18-Watt, twin-channel, all-valve 2x10” combo with valve-driven Tremolo was originally produced from 1966 to 1968. The 1958X is a handwired reissue of the extremely rare1958. The 1958X’s specs are identical to that of the 1973X except that 2 x 10” Celestion G10F-15 16 Ohm, 15 Watt speakers have been selected for their tonal authenticity.

Valve Compliment: 3 x ECC83 (one used for Tremolo); 1 x EZ81 rectifier; 2 x EL84.

0

Today, January 23, Marshall announced the launch of its new Custom Shop Tattoo Series.

The company got together with five of the U.K.’s most respected tattooists to lend their art and style to some of Marshall’s British-built products.

The tattooists were given a completely open brief to ensure that their own individual style came through in their art. Each had the following three products to work with:

• JVM1H all-valve, 1-Watt head with a C110 1x10” cabinet
• JVM215C all-valve, 50-Watt 1x12” combo
• JVM410H all-valve, 100-Watt head with a 1960A angled 4x12” cabinet.

“Not surprisingly, the results look amazing,” says Marshall’s brand director, Craig Glover. “After all, rock music and tattoos go together like whiskey and Coke!”

The five tattooists involved in the project are Emily Wood of Black Heart Tattoo, Phil Kyle of Magnum Opus Tattoo, Tutti Serra of Black Garden Tattoo, Antony Flemming of World of Tattoos and Vicky Morgan of Ghost House Tattoos.

“The bands I loved as a teenager totally influenced me and inspired me to become a tattooist,” Morgan says. “Many of them are a part of the Marshall family.”

All products of these U.K.-built products will feature a customized front panel, colored vinyl and a plaque from the relevant artist. This series will be available globally for purchase from January 23 to December 31, 2014.

NAMM 2014: AXL Guitars Introduces the Bel Air

0
0

The latest addition to the award-winning AXL USA line is the USA BelAir, a hand-assembled TV Jones and Bigsby-equipped rocker that covers tons of tonal ground from surf to country and back again.

The AXL USA Bel Air extends the theme of our award-winning single cutaway Bulldog platform. Like all AXL USA instruments, it's assembled by hand in Hayward, CA.

Each Bel Air guitar goes through a rigorous setup process from hand-pressing and gluing the frets, to hand-soldering the electronics so we can deliver a guitar that's 100 percent ready to rock a club or a stadium from the moment you take it out of the case.

The Bel Air delivers the stage-ready marriage of hand-assembly and top-of-the-line components players expect from AXL USA. For the Bel Air, we've mined the vintage vein by assembling it with a single TV Jones Power 'Tron pickup and USA B5 Bigsby vibrato. Combine those with other under-the-hood components like TonePros Kluson tuners, CTS pots, Orange Drop Capacitor and Switchcraft jack.

The TonePros locking roller TOM bridge and GraphTech Tusq XL nut deliver spot-on intonation and singing sustain even after stretching the Bigsby to its swampy limits. Our adventurous AXL USA players want a full range of tone choices, so we've included a coil tap so players have equally powerful single-coil tone with a push-pull pot.

We've loaded all this horsepower into a solid mahogany single cutaway slab body with one-piece mahogany neck for a vintage-style machine that fires on all cylinders to pull off surf, twang, rockabilly and classic rock with ease.

The USA Bel Air is available in a pearlescent Orange Sparkle or Light Blue, and has a street price of $749.99, an unbeatable combination of US-assembly and high-end componentry that leaves competitors in the dust.

NAMM 2014: Reverend Introduces New Collection of Signature Guitars and Basses

0
0

It’s the year of the Signature Model at Reverend Guitars.

Four new Signature Models will be debuted at NAMM: The Reverend Bob Balch Signature Model, the Reverend Meshell Ndegeocello Signature Fellowship Bass, the Reverend Reeves Gabrels Signature Spacehawk and the Reverend Pete Anderson PA-1 HB Custom.

Also included in the 2014 NAMM debut are the Reverend Warhawk RT and the four-string version of the Reverend Mercalli bass.

Bob Balch of Fu Manchu and Sun + Sail Club has been playing Reverend Senseis for years. For his Signature Model, Reverend added body bevels, routed a tone chamber under the pickguard and loaded it with Railhammers.

The all-new Bob Balch Signature Railhammer Pickup is in the bridge — a brass-covered Railhammer with a ceramic magnet for smooth and clear tone. The Railhammer Chisel in the neck position adds in the aggression with its cutting upper-mid tone. The Reverend Bob Balch Signature Model is Satin Transparent Brown and has a Rosewood neck.

The Reverend Meshell Ndegeocello Fellowship Bass came together very quickly. Meshell has been playing her collection of Reverend basses all around the world at some very high-profile gigs. At the Jason Moran concert in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ken Haas intended to ask her to do a Signature Bass. Meshell beat him to it, asking to do one first!

The Fellowship, in Satin Black with a reverse headstock, is based on the popular Reverend Thundergun, with a set-neck and a raised center ridge for better sustain. It has just one pickup, the new P-Blade, which extends the low end with excellent clarity. The controls are stacked into one knob for volume and tone. The Fellowship comes in Satin Black with a Rosewood fretboard and a reverse headstock.

Reverend Guitars and Reeves Gabrels have had a long and successful relationship. So when Gabrels approached Reverend about creating an innovative semi-hollow for cutting-edge players, Reverend quickly agreed! The Reverend Reeves Gabrels Signature Spacehawk was born.

The Spacehawk is an all-new semi-hollow, loaded with Railhammer Chisels for a pristine-to-nasty range. The model also has a sealed body to control feedback, an on-off toggle switch, a soft-touch tremolo spring, and a push-pull phase switch. Top it all off with a three-piece pickguard, and let the sonic adventures begin!

New to the Reverend PA-1 series is the Reverend Pete Anderson PA-1 HB Custom. Like the other PA-1 models, this one also has the classic hollow-body look and feedback-controlling Uni-Brace system. The PA-1 HB Custom, however, is loaded with Reverend’s newest pickups, the Special HAL Humbuckers, for a clean and smooth vintage tone. An art-deco style trapeze tailpiece completes the refined look and feel. The PA-1 HB Custom is available in Satin Tobacco Burst and Satin Violin Brown.

The Reverend Warhawk RT is the newest Reverend Guitar built to go from clean to mean. Loaded with two Revtrons, the Warhawk RT has a tone that is warm, yet aggressive. The raised center ridge increases body mass, while the thinner wings increase resonance for a wicked combination of sustain and harmonics. The Warhawk RT comes in Metallic Copper Fire, Metallic Alpine Green, and Reverend’s 3-Tone Burst. Each color comes equipped with a Rosewood neck and a Bigsby.

The calling card of the Reverend Mercalli Bass is big, deep, punchy, and utterly clear. Now, the Mercalli is available in a four-string version to complement the popular Reverend Mercalli-5. The innovative passive pickups have that vintage warmth, while the five-piece neck and lock-down bridge deliver a modern punch.

NAMM NOTE: Reverend is throwing a party along with Fargen Amplification and Souldier Straps. The party will be 7 p.m. Friday, January 24, with a long list of performers and special guests. Orange County favorites Pet Shark will open the show, followed by the Cold and Lovely.

Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Friends take the stage after that, and then Pete Anderson and his band close the show. A number of special guests plan to attend, jam and hang out!. The party will take place at Chaser’s Lounge, 2765 N. Orange Olive Road, Orange, California. See Reverend Guitars (Booth #5899), Fargen Amplification (#2390) or Souldier Straps (#4697) for tickets and details.

First Listen: Bruce Springsteen’s ‘High Hopes’

0
0

The ultimate goal in rock music, as seen by some, is to make as much of an impression as possible on the audience. Often, a high-volume attack is a major part of that impression. The volume can be a symbol of anger, emotion, rawness, and expression. Most straight-rock bands, in their desire for blasting the faces off of their audience members, leave their acoustic guitars backstage only to bring out for a few obvious, slower ballads. It is rare to see a “rock” band who not only occasionally performs with only acoustic instruments, but makes them the backbone of their main live set up.

However, this anomaly was the case for the Havalinas, a legendary LA rock band whose typical live and studio set up was acoustic/stand-up bass/drums. Bruce Springsteen recently covered their lively acoustic rave-up, “High Hopes,” in the studio for the second time. But not only did the Boss cover the song alone; its sound became the catalyst for the recording of his new album, his 18th. Not so coincidentally, the album also bears the name of its biggest inspiration: High Hopes.

High Hopes is unlike any previous entry in the Springsteen catalog. For the first time, Springsteen decided to revisit demos and unfinished songs from the past decade. He re-mixed and added to the already existing recordings, creating a strange mix of old and new.

In that way, the very nature of its creation is its most damning problem. Featuring tracks written during many different times in his career, High Hopes has a hodge-podge, thrown-together quality that’s unusual for a Springsteen album. Springsteen’s best works usually have a uniting sonic theme; the wall-of-sound teenage fantasy of Born To Run, the desolate acoustic wasteland of Nebraska, the hollow post-9/11 America of The Rising, and so on. Springsteen was clearly many different states of mind when he wrote the songs on High Hopes, making the songs consistently clash with each other.

Even though songs like “Heaven’s Wall,” “Frankie Fell In Love,” and “Harry’s Place” fall far short of the high standards Springsteen has set for himself over the past decades, High Hopes is not without its highlights.

The album’s reworking of one of Springsteen’s most infamous songs, “American Skin (41 Shots),” is one of those high water marks. Originally written about the New York City Police Department’s slaying of Amadou Diallo, Springsteen has recently brought the song back to his live sets as a tribute to Trayvon Martin. Even with some over the top shredding towards its conclusion by Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello (a frequent contributor to High Hopes), it is a haunting, timely and politically charged song.

The album’s other wonderful moment comes in the form of “The Wall.” Telling the story of Walter Chicon, a Jersey Shore rock legend who never made it home from the Vietnam War, “The Wall” is a ballad rich with love, sentimentality and loss. As the album’s penultimate track, it packs a powerful emotional punch.

High Hopes, in more than one way, is an unusual entry in Springsteen’s discography. But I guess that’s to be expected from a record that was inspired by a song an unusual, unique band. The Havalinas, who took a risk in making their passionate, spirited rock acoustically, ended up inspiring one of rock’s most accomplished songwriters to take a big risk of his own.

Experience Hendrix Tour Expands, Adds Rich Robinson, Robby Krieger and Others

Six additional dates have just been added to the front and back ends of the previously announced 2014 Experience Hendrix Tour, presented by Band Fuse: Rock Legends. With just-added shows in Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota, this year’s edition of the Experience Hendrix tour includes 25 performance dates over a span of just under four weeks.

Concurrent with the announcement of the added dates come word that The Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith and Robby Kreiger of the Doors, Taj Mahal and Quinn Sullivan will be among the roster of all-star musicians joining the tour that has been an annual event for the past decade. Robinson, founding member, guitarist and songwriter for the Black Crowes, commented, “I’m really looking forward to getting out and playing some of my favorite Hendrix songs with these great musicians.”

Artists whose participation was previously announced include Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde, Bootsy Collins, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Dweezil Zappa, Los Lobos’ Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo, Eric Gales, Ana Popovic, Mato Nanji, Quinn Sullivan and others. Billy Cox, the bass player who was part of Jimi Hendrix’s music life before he was “discovered” as well as thereafter, is again part of the line-up as is Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton.

The new kick-off date for the tour that pays homage to the musical genius of Jimi Hendrix is March 8 in Shawnee, OK at the Grand Event Center there, followed by a concert on Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center in Midland, TX on March 9. These will be followed by the previously announced concert dates March 11 – April 3 which will be followed by a second Milwaukee show on April 4 at the Roverside Theater (the March 16 date there has already sold out), April 5 at the Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville, IN, April 6 at the Civic Center in Peoria, IL, and April 8 at the State Theater in Minneapolis.

In terms of format, the tour offers multiple opportunities for performers and audiences to witness unique collaborations among the participating artists, and will highlight these artists and the others performing their favorite Hendrix signature songs including “Little Wing,” “Fire,” “Purple Haze,” and “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”. As has been the case with previous Experience Hendrix outings, special guests are expected to sit in at many of the dates, making the concerts all that much more memorable for both new and veteran Hendrix fans. Past special guests have included Paul Rodgers, Joe Satriani, Hubert Sumlin, Steve Vai, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Carlos Santana and others.

As in years past, Fender Guitars and Dunlop Manufacturing, whose gear is an integral part of the tour’s backline, sponsor the Experience Hendrix Tour together with IK Multimedia and Hal Leonard. Band Fuse: Rock Legends, the tour’s presenting sponsor recently concluded a multi-phased partnership with Experience Hendrix, LLC whereby fifteen of Jim Hendrix signature songs will be offered as downloadable content for players of the newly released Rock Legends video game.
This year's Experience Hendrix Tour is the focus of the Jimi Hendrix Guitar Competition. Backed by Sony Music's Legacy Recordings, IK Multimedia, Talenthouse along with Experience Hendrix, LLC the competition offers entrants a chance to win a performing slot on one of the tour dates next year as well as a cash prize plus gear. Contestants are invited to submit a video of their performance of a Jimi Hendrix track with the winner selected by a team of judges including Janie Hendrix, producer/engineer Eddie Kramer, Guitar World editor Brad Tolinski and musician Dave Stewart.

Sevendust Gear Up for Acoustic Tour & Album

0
0

Sevendust are planning to embark on an acoustic headlining tour beginning April 1, with an acoustic record—Time Travelers & Bonfires—also being released that month. The Atlanta band--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), John Connolly (guitar/vocals) and Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals)—entered Architekt Studios in Butler, NJ (where they recorded their previous Black Out the Sunalbum) at the beginning of the month to record their highly anticipated and much-talked-about acoustic studio album.

It will be a collection of brand new songs, along with re-recorded Sevendust classics. Newly re-recorded songs will include: “Black,” “Gone,” “Denial,” “Karma,” “Trust” and “Crucified.” Six brand new songs have also been written and recorded for the acoustic album. It’s not the first time Sevendust has explored their acoustic side. Their critically acclaimed Southside Double-Wide live acoustic album was released in 2004.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, Sevendust partnered with PledgeMusic for a direct-to-fan campaign to help fund the creation of Time Travelers & Bonfires and was set to last a 130 days. Over the course of that first weekend, they reached their goal thanks to their “Family” of fans who had received the exciting news solely from the band’s and band member’s personal Facebook and Twitter sites. Sevendust has always said they consider their fans to be part of the Sevendust Family, and they certainly proved their love and devotion for the band with the immediate response to the PledgeMusic opportunity.

With over 70 days left in the campaign, Sevendust has raised over 155% of their goal with over 2,550 pledges. Exclusive incentives for pledgers included a digital download of the album before its available anywhere, exclusive updates during the making of the record, signed drumheads and guitar picks, being included in the album’s liner notes, autographed guitars used on tour, and dinner with the band (which was swapped up quick by two very lucky “Family” members).

Here is the official track listing of Time Travelers & Bonfires:

1. Come Down
2. Under It All
3. The Wait
4. Upbeat Sugar
5. One Life
6. Bonfire
7. Gone
8. Denial
9. Trust
10. Crucified
11. Karma
12. Black
